Commission Information & Policy

Lily Kaseke is open for commissioned pieces.

Commissioned Paintings Terms and Conditions

​

 

1. Commission Request and Consultation

​

  •  Initial Consultation: You'll start by discussing your vision, including subject matter, size, style, color palette, and any specific elements you want in the painting. Please also specify whether you'd like a commissioned print or original painting. 

  • Reference Material: Provide clear reference photos or detailed descriptions. Please note that my work will remain abstract and I am unable to create portraits based on reference material. 

  • Quotation: Based on the consultation, I'll provide a written quotation, including the price, estimated completion time, and payment schedule. 

 

2. Payment

 

  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total price is required to begin the commission.   

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due upon completion and your approval of the final painting, prior to shipping. 

  • Payment Methods: Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, credit card, and payment via a sent payment link. 

 

3. Creation and Approval Process

  •  Progress Updates: I will provide you with progress updates, including photos or videos, at agreed-upon intervals.

  • Feedback and Adjustments: You can provide feedback at these stages. Minor adjustments are included in the price. Significant changes to the original concept may incur additional costs.

  • Approval: Before shipping, you'll have the opportunity to approve the painting. If you're not satisfied, I'll make reasonable adjustments to meet your expectations. Should you choose not to receive your painting, I will keep the painting and the deposit remains non-refundable. 

 

4. Delivery and Shipping

 

  • Delivery Time: Estimated delivery time will be provided in the initial quotation.

  •  Shipping Costs: Shipping costs are the responsibility of the client and will be added to the final invoice.

  •  Delivery issues: You will receive tracking information when your painting has been dispatched. Should you receive your work damaged, it is essential you get in touch as soon as possible to allow me to rectify the issue. 

  •   Local Pickup and Delivery: Local pickup is available by appointment. Hand delivery may also be available dependent on location. 

 

5. Copyright and Usage

 

  • Copyright: I retain the copyright to the artwork, including the right to create prints or use images of the painting for promotional purposes, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Certificate: The painting will be shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity. This needs to be kept safe with the painting. 

  • Personal Use: You have the right to display the painting for personal use. Commercial use requires a separate agreement.

 

6. Cancellation

 

  • By the Client: If you cancel the commission after the deposit is paid, the deposit remains non-refundable. If work has progressed beyond the initial stages, you may be responsible for additional costs.

  •   By the Artist: I reserve the right to cancel the commission due to unforeseen circumstances. In this case, you'll receive a full refund of all payments made. 

 

7. Satisfaction Guarantee

 

  • I am committed to creating a painting that meets your expectations. If you're not completely satisfied, please contact me to discuss your concerns.

  • By proceeding with the commission, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
