CARING FOR YOUR ART
A GUIDE TO LONGEVITY
Thank you for choosing By Lily Kaseke art for your home.
All art work is printed or hand-illustrated on Fine Art Paper.
To ensure it remains in great condition, I've written a simple guide on caring for your piece.
CARING FOR YOUR PRINTS
Handling Your Print
-
Always wash your hands before handling your art print, or wear cotton gloves to prevent transferring oils and dirt.
-
Hold the print by its edges to avoid fingerprints and smudges on the printed area.
Framing and Displaying
-
When framing, use acid-free mats and backing boards to prevent discolouration and deterioration of the print over time.
-
Use UV-protective glass or acrylic to protect your print from harmful UV rays, which can cause fading.
-
Display your print away from direct sunlight to prevent it from fading.
-
Keep your print in a stable environment, avoiding areas with high humidity or extreme temperature fluctuations.
Cleaning Your Print
-
Use a soft, dry cloth or a static duster to gently remove dust from the surface of the glazing. DO NOT use water or cleaning solutions directly on the print.
Storage
-
If you need to store your print, keep it flat between acid-free paper or in an archival sleeve.
-
Cool, Dark Place: Store it in a cool, dark, and dry place to prevent damage from light, heat, and moisture.
